Most of our products are kept at 20-40cm tall above the root plug, but you can expect natural variation. This is the optimal height for tree establishement, although some species such as holly tend to be kept at a slightly smaller height. If you have specific height requirements, then please do get in touch as we can normally oblige you request.


Our experts inspect every tree to ensure that it is in good health. As part of our environmental policy, we try to mimise the use of chemicals on the nursery which may allow some discolouration of the leaves. What you can see is as nature intended and it will only be a temporary effect: if it were a serious pest or disease then we would not send the plant out.

Your happiness is our business and that is why we individually check every single tree that we send out. If you have a concern about your plant, please get in touch with us within 7 days so that we can diagnose the issue. Very rarely, we might ask you to send the plant back to us in secure packaging to help us identify the issue, but in most cases we can diagnose the problem by phone or photograph. If you have contacted us within 7 days of delivery and we have been at fault, then we will offer you a free replacement plant or a full refund including delivery charges. If we no longer stock your species, we will suggest a suitable alternative. We cannot refund return postage if we did not request the return of the plant or when we were not at fault, nor can we accept liability for any plants damaged during return transit.

We want you to be happy with your choice, so if you wish to return an item where we are not at fault, for example, where you change your mind, you will be required to pay for return postage costs. Please note that the returned plant must be in the same condition as when we sent it to you.
