All prices in our e-shop include VAT. There is no delivery charge on any of our products.


All our trees are cell-grown (within a container) and most of our products are kept at 20-40cm tall above the root plug, but you can expect natural variation. This is the optimal height for tree establishement, although some species tend to be kept at a slightly smaller height. If you have specific height requirements, then please do get in touch as we can normally oblige you request.


Our experts inspect every tree to ensure that it is in good health. As part of our environmental policy, we try to mimise the use of chemicals on the nursery which may allow some discolouration of the leaves. What you can see is as nature intended and it will only be a temporary effect: if it were a serious pest or disease then we would not send the plant out.


As a guide, orders for 8 plants or more will be sent by courier; 8 plants or fewer will be sent by Royal Mail.

If sending by Royal Mail we will notify you by email that your order has been despatched. In order to keep the price you pay to a minimum we do not offer a tracking service for items being despatched by Royal Mail. All items sent out by Royal Mail will have to be signed for on delivery.

If sending by Courier we will email a carrier tracking reference to you following despatch of your order. This will enable you to go on-line and see the progress of your order. In order to ensure speedy delivery, we will ask couriers to leave the package in a safe place if there is no-one there to receive the order.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a timed-delivery service nor can couriers call ahead to advise of imminent delivery. Delivery is on a next-day, 8am to 6pm, basis. The risk in the goods shall pass to the customer upon delivery.

If Royal Mail or couriers can not make a secure delivery they will leave a card with instructions on what to do to get your package. If you are unlikely to be at home to accept delivery and you do not wish the parcel to be left please consider having your order delivered to another address, for example a work address. We are not able to delivery to PO Boxes.

Please ensure that a full and correct postcode is given for the delivery address. We can not accept responsibility for any loss of plant quality due to delays in delivery arising from incorrect address details. Please allow adequate time for your plants to arrive - allow for public holidays that may affect timings.

We can not be held responsible for any consequent loss following delays in delivery which are out with our immediate control, nor for any delays in despatch arising from problems with the processing of credit or debit payments via our payment provider.

If you are ordering plants it is important that they do not spend too long in transit. Please ensure the package is opened as soon as possible on receipt and the young plants provided with adequate light and moisture.

If you have not received your plants within 10 working days of placing your order please email us at giving us details of your order.

If you are less than satisfied with the condition of your plants, please let us know within 7 days of receipt and we will replace the plants at no extra cost. If the same species is no longer available we reserve the right to provide a substitute species.

Please do not send plants back to us until you have contacted us and we have requested you to return them. Unless it can be shown that a failure on the part of Buy-Trees-Online has led to the need to return plants, the customer is liable for the cost of any return carriage.
